Happy birthday to us!

Where The Wild Things Are turns one today! To celebrate, we’re throwing ourselves a party. Everyone’s invited, and the festivities are running all weekend long – there’ll be cake, dress-ups, real live wild things and fun with some of our favourite local authors and illustrators. Hurrah! Here’s our line-up of birthday excitement …

Friday 4 March

4 pm: Birthday cake for The Wonder Bookclub.

4 pm: Meet Maisy Mouse from Lucy Cousins’ picture books.

6 pm: Australia’s favourite author (it’s official!), Isobelle Carmody, will be paying us a visit – join us for drinks, nibbles and dress-ups and a wild rumpus down Boundary Street!

Saturday 5 March

10 am: Meet Maisy Mouse from Lucy Cousins’ picture books.

10 am: Dress up as your favourite superhero for your chance to win an awesome prize. Hear Peter Carnavas read from his new book My Sister is a Superhero and watch him do a demonstration!

3 pm: Afternoon tea with a few of our lovely local authors and illustrators: Samantha Wheeler, Christine Bongers, Narelle Oliver, Kate Hunter and Lucia Masciullo.

Sunday 6 March

11 am to 1 pm: Morning tea with real live wild creatures – wild rangers are bringing live animals, including including a crocodile and snakes, to the shop!

On top of all that, we’ve got double loyalty points for members all weekend, plus prize packs and giveaways aplenty. Don’t miss out – book your spot today!
